A container terminal handling Panamax vessels (4,500 TEU) needed to replace 24 cone fender frontal pads after 11 years of service. The original pads were UHMWPE 80 mm thick, 1500 × 1500 mm, with M20 countersunk mounting holes on a 250 mm grid.
Customer sent us the original fender drawing (PDF). Within 48 hours we returned a CAD-confirmed quote and a sample drilling pattern for approval. After PO, we delivered FOB Qingdao in 22 days. Customer used a local stevedoring contractor for installation.
The terminal saved 38 % vs. their previous European supplier on a like-for-like spec, with 11 days shorter lead time. Repeat orders for adjacent berths followed in the next 18 months.
For Panamax + cone fender systems: 80 mm UHMWPE black UV. For Post-Panamax / VLCS up to 14,000 TEU: 100 mm. For feeder ports under 2,000 TEU: 50 – 60 mm is usually enough.
